The Academy of Hospitality and Tourism Advisory Board, made up of hospitality & tourism leaders in Miami-Dade County established the South Florida Tourism Professional of the Year Award in 1991. The South Florida Tourism Professional of the Year Award is presented annually to the leader who has made significant contributions to the tourism community – and the South Florida community at large – through his or her leadership in the industry as well as through his/her volunteerism efforts.
