The uncertainties of 2020 challenged all of us, but with the amazing support of our sponsors and members, we made great strides in achieving our goals and mission to host the Annual Mega Student Conference. The STEM Advisory Board has awarded four deserving students from Miami-Dade County Public Schools with a $1,000 scholarship from each of the four STEM themed areas (Agriscience, Engineering, Health Sciences, and Information Technology).

Please help us congratulate the Student winners:

Aron Jones, Robert Morgan Educational Center Academy of Engineering – Aron is in the top five percent of his senior class. In his engineering classes, Aron has shown great skill in project design, creation, and build. Aron was recently certified in Autodesk® AutoCAD, he also has experience with modeling software used to design projects before the build phase.

Javan Salls, Hialeah Gardens Senior High School, Academy of Health Science – Javan is the type of student that excels at everything he does. With his astounding weighted GPA above 4.93 he is one who does not let any obstacle overcome his drive to succeed. He has managed to balance his many Advanced Placement/ Cambridge classes, extracurricular activities, sports, and community service throughout his high school career. He maintained straight A’s while participating in a plethora of clubs: HOSA, GSA. Key Club and Hialeah Gardens High School’s health and science clubs.

Sharan Majumder, North Miami Beach Senior High, Academy of IT – Sharan is a hardworking, dedicated, and bright young man who was President of the National Honor Society and participated in the Summer Youth Internship Program; during this time, Sharan was a part of Miami-Dade College Upward Bound Program, a college level summer program. Through his organization skills, responsibility, and goal and task orientated, he successfully completed both programs simultaneously. Sharan has taken most of the Advanced Placement courses offered at school, and through his hard work, this has led him to be one of the top students in his class. Sharan is a smart and academically gifted student.

Shary Raymundo, Miami Lakes Educational Center, Academy of IT – Shary has exemplified great leadership skills, and shown tremendous growth as she applied the knowledge gained through her academic studies in a hands-on environment.
