Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High in Miami-Dade is training students to get a head start on their finances. By preparing students as young as 14-year old in ninth grade for financial success, it puts their financial knowledge above the average for a high school student. Former economics teacher-turned-real estate investor, Jake Butler, and with the sponsorship of their accounting teacher, Deborah Simmons have teamed up to further the students in their financial endeavors and knowledge. Butler volunteers his time now, showing kids how to make a lot of money with just a little. This is the financial literacy program’s second year at Krop and the goal is to extend it to other schools.
